Designed around your home and outdoor life

Custom Water Features for Round Rock Backyards

A successful water feature starts with the experience you want—not simply with an empty part of the yard. You may want waterfall sound beside a covered patio, a fountain visible from the kitchen, or an ecosystem pond that becomes the destination beyond your seating area.

Round Rock properties range from compact lots with established patios to more open yards with room for a larger pond or stream. We consider viewing angles, walking routes, existing hardscaping, elevation changes, shade, drainage, and equipment access before determining the feature's placement and scale.

The result should feel connected to the home and landscape. Waterfall orientation affects what you hear. Rock placement affects whether the feature feels natural. Lighting affects what remains visible after sunset. Maintenance access affects how practical the feature will be to own.

Aquascape-exclusive systems and methods

What We Build in Round Rock

Fountainscapes & Waterfalls specializes in recirculating water features built around the Aquascape approach. Depending on the space and the experience you want, that may mean an ecosystem pond, a pondless waterfall, a compact fountainscape, or a combination of water, fire, stone, plants, and lighting.

Our focus is fewer, better builds. We match the scope to the property, plan the hydraulic and filtration system, and finish the feature as a cohesive part of the outdoor setting. Core Aquascape systems, components, and construction methods remain central to the build; compatible stone, plumbing, electrical, and landscape materials may be sourced for the project's specific needs.

Plan for sun, water, stone, and daily enjoyment

Why Water Features Work Well in Round Rock Outdoor Spaces

Round Rock's long outdoor-living season gives a well-placed water feature many opportunities to be enjoyed. The design still needs to respond to the actual site. A feature exposed to afternoon sun, a protected courtyard, and a sloped backyard will each behave differently.

  • Patio connection: position the feature so water can be seen and heard from covered seating, dining areas, interior windows, or a pool deck.
  • Sun and evaporation: account for exposure, splash, wind, refill access, and the possible value of automatic water-level management.
  • Recirculating design: keep water moving through a closed system while recognizing that evaporation, splash, and maintenance still require replacement water.
  • Stone integration: coordinate rock color, form, and scale with existing masonry, walls, patios, and the broader Central Texas landscape character.
  • Drainage and runoff: evaluate grade so stormwater and surrounding landscape runoff do not create avoidable water-quality or edge problems.
  • Evening use: use restrained lighting to reveal waterfalls, fountain movement, stone texture, and safe routes near the feature.

Six ways to shape the experience

Round Rock Water Feature Services

Ecosystem Ponds

Medium-sized backyard ecosystem pond with rock edges and moving water

Create a living backyard destination with fish, aquatic plants, natural stone, circulation, mechanical filtration, and biological filtration working together.

Best for: homeowners who want a complete water garden with depth, reflection, wildlife interest, and daily interaction.

Pondless Waterfalls

Compact pondless waterfall built with natural stone

Enjoy waterfall sound and movement as water disappears into a concealed reservoir and recirculates to the top of the stream.

Best for: patios, garden beds, slopes, and homeowners who want moving water without an open pond.

Fountainscapes

Decorative fountain bowls arranged in a compact outdoor space

Use urns, spheres, bowls, bubbling boulders, or coordinated groupings to add movement and sound within a smaller footprint.

Best for: courtyards, entries, patios, pool surroundings, and defined garden spaces.

Fire & Water Features

Decorative fountainscape combining fire and moving water

Combine contrasting fire and water elements to create a strong evening focal point near an outdoor gathering area.

Best for: entertainment areas where a distinctive visual centerpiece is part of the larger landscape plan.

Lighting

Pondless waterfall illuminated by warm landscape lighting

Highlight moving water, stone, depth, and reflection with fixtures selected and positioned as part of the original design.

Best for: homeowners who want their water feature to remain part of the outdoor experience after sunset.

Maintenance

Routine hands-on maintenance being performed on a pond

Good ownership begins with accessible equipment, clear operating instructions, and an honest understanding of routine care.

Texas service notice: our Minnesota maintenance programs do not automatically extend to Round Rock. Any Texas on-site maintenance visit requires separate confirmation of availability, scope, and travel cost.

Specialized experience and clear expectations

Why Choose Fountainscapes & Waterfalls?

Owner Russell Sabo brings Aquascape training and hands-on experience from water-feature projects in multiple states. That experience supports a disciplined approach to layout, excavation, liner protection, plumbing, filtration, rock placement, waterfall construction, startup, and client handoff.

  • Aquascape specialization: core systems, components, and construction methods follow a consistent ecosystem-based approach.
  • Design around use: sound, views, seating, lighting, and maintenance access are considered together.
  • Premium project focus: scope is shaped around craftsmanship and long-term serviceability rather than maximum project volume.
  • Travel transparency: construction and project-specific travel costs are clearly separated before authorization.
  • Direct involvement: you work with the owner through the consultation, planning, and construction process.

A planned destination-installation model

How Round Rock Travel Projects Work

Fountainscapes & Waterfalls is based in New Ulm, Minnesota. Round Rock installations are scheduled as destination projects during our winter construction season.

Depending on the installation plan, the proposal may include:

  • Round-trip transportation between Minnesota and Central Texas.
  • Hotel accommodations during the installation.
  • Rental vehicle or work-vehicle expenses.
  • Transportation or delivery of tools and specialized equipment.
  • Additional approved travel required by the project's scope or schedule.

Travel expenses are disclosed and approved before booking. No travel arrangements are made until the scope, travel budget, and installation schedule have been accepted. If a later project change would require additional travel expense, that change is discussed before the expense is incurred.

When practical, multiple Central Texas projects may be coordinated during one trip so certain shared travel expenses can be divided among participating clients. Grouped scheduling and savings are not guaranteed.

Construction and travel priced clearly

Planning Your Round Rock Water Feature Investment

Your construction price depends on the selected feature, scale, access, excavation conditions, stone, equipment, filtration, plumbing, lighting, and finishing details. Central Texas destination projects must also support the travel required to complete them responsibly.

As a working guideline, we generally evaluate out-of-state installation opportunities beginning around $12,500 for construction, plus project-specific travel expenses. This is a qualification guideline rather than a promised package price. Actual proposals depend on the agreed design and site conditions.

During the free phone consultation, we discuss your goals, approximate investment range, preferred schedule, site photographs, and whether the project makes sense for the destination-installation model. The written proposal then identifies construction costs and applicable travel expenses separately before you authorize the project.
